Mix and Match Dining Chairs – how to work the trend

If you’ve been following me on Snapchat you probably know I’m in the middle of putting together my dining room. It was the only space we hadn’t given any love after moving, and while there are other areas in the house that I need to work on, I feel the dining room would make the most impact. So if y’all would like to get in on some behind the scenes action and see what I’m up to when I’m not blogging (which I rarely do these days! :() then follow me on Snapchat under the user name ‘farihanasir’.

Anyway, back to today’s post.

Now we have already purchased our dining table, side chairs (in Oyster), and captain chairs but there’s a really fun trend going around these days – mix and match dining chairs. I know, you’re thinking: trends shmends, but trust me, this one’s a keeper. It’s fun, affordable (cause you can incorporate a variety of price points), and adapts well with different styles!

The easiest way to create a balanced look with mix and match dining chairs is to find a unifying element in all your pieces, it could be color, style, shape, or material. Try playing with scale or mixing in different textures to keep it interesting. However, if you’d rather keep it simple, here’s a great way to work this trend into your dining room – mixed neutrals!

If you’re a little more adventurous you could pick some vintage pieces from your favorite store, or Chairish is a great online resources for antiques and pre-owned items. They have an ah-mazing collection of dining chairs – I would know cause I’ve spent an unhealthy amount of time on their website :$

Let me know what you think of this mix and match dining chairs mood board and if you’re ready to jump on this trend!

Until next time,

Fariha ♥
